The Beginning

On Saturday, April 26, College of Santa Fe art and design professors David Grey and Kim Russo, along with CSF students Elle Gound and Cole Wilson, met at W21 to get the mural project underway. It took 4 hours to get the 45 foot by 54 foot floor grided off and the 99 grid-boxes numbered.


The next day, CSF professors Kim Russo and David Grey were joined by Capshaw junior high school student Emma Theis and CSF student Kirpal Khalsa who got started on the drawing and painting.


To get an idea of the scale of the project, check out the plan below. The large green funnel at the top right of the drawing is the same funnel that Kirpal is painting in the photo (above).
